Learn Vedic Chanting

With Swami Dhyanananda Saraswati

श्री गुरुभ्यो नमः ॥

Sanskrit mantras follow specific rules of pronunciation, and many Vedic mantras have a fixed melody.
Because Vedas are transmitted in an oral tradition since thousands of years, precision in their recitation is important.
In the chanting classes, you will learn and practice the correct pronunciation and melodic structure of Vedic mantras and hymns.

Swami Dhyanananda Saraswati is teaching chanting as per Taittirya Shaka of Kṛṣṇa Yajurveda, such as practiced in the Arsha Vidya Sampradaya at Swami Dayananda ashramas in Rishikesh, Annaikatti Coimbatore and Saylorsburg, as well as many places in Tamil Nadu and beyond. The notations in the hymn collection book Mantrapușpam correllate with this shaka.

Chanting class syllabus contains: introduction, pronunciation, for Hindi speaking people: most important differences between Sanskrit and Hindi pronunciation, differences in chanting Vedic and Nonvedic mantras, learning of Shanti Mantras and stutis, progressing to Suktams, and for intermediate Sri Rudram, Sahasranamas, etc.

Chanting class is held in the spirit of equality and unity. Nontraditional students are particularly welcome.

Three different classes:

- Beginners' Chanting Class
